EagerRisk Theater
As R. Admiral Grace Hooper famously said, "A ship in port is safe, but
that is not what ships are built for." Eager Risk Theater, a New York-based company founded by three alumni from the Ira Brind School of Theater Arts at the University of the Arts, applies this motto in every venture, proving in theatre, there is no ruin among the risky. Headed by Artistic Director and actor/playwright Annie R. Such, Eager Risk Theater dedicates itself to producing and supporting young, eager, and risky theatre. Committing itself to predominately new, original work, and rich, rare revivals, Eager Risk Productions cultivates the artist as well as the art by incorporating multiple medias with live performance. With cultural and thematic specific seasons, Eager Risk Theater integrates each program with a different visual art movement or artist, exemplifying the theatrical components and educating audiences with poignancy and truth. Eager Risk Theater seeks to find beauty in not only the winsome, but also the grotesque aspects of human nature, by challenging conventional aesthetics with the highest form of new, inventive theater.
